A Flame Arrestor is designed to prevent the propagation of flame through pipelines, vents, or storage tank openings by extinguishing the flame front. It consists of a metallic flame-quenching element that absorbs heat from the flame, lowering the gas temperature below its ignition point.
Commonly used in flammable gas or vapor systems, flame arrestors are essential for explosion prevention in industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, pharmaceuticals, and storage terminals. They are available in in-line or end-of-line configurations and can be tested to API or ISO standards.
