A radar level transmitter operates on the FMCW (Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) principle. It emits high-frequency microwave signals toward the product surface; the waves reflect back to the sensor. The time delay between transmitted and received signals is measured to calculate distance. Due to its shorter wavelength, 80 GHz radar offers superior beam focusing, enabling accurate, non-contact level measurement even in narrow nozzles, vapours, dust, condensation, and varying process conditions.
