Metal Tube Rotameter (SDMT Series) The Metal tube rotameter operates based on the variable area principle, where a float moves vertically inside a tapered tube in response to the flow rate. As the flow increases, the float rises until the upward force of the flowing fluid equals the downward gravitational force. The float’s position corresponds to a specific flow rate, which is indicated via a magnetic follower mechanism on the external indicator.
